Directions to Our Practice
If you've never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could take:
- We're actually just across Union Ave from the high school! When you're nearly past the football field, turn right. We're in the same building as the driving school.
- If you're coming from Belleview Elementary School for your child's checkup, take Campus Dr west, then turn right onto Yosemite St, then right again onto Union Ave. We're in the second building on the left, right at the break in the median.
How Much Local History Do You Know?
Greenwood Village, named after the historic Greenwood Ranch, has roots stretching back to the 1860s when settlers from the East and Midwest arrived, drawn by the allure of gold. By the early 20th century, the area had evolved into a thriving farming community. However, it wasn't until 1950 that Greenwood Village was officially incorporated.
The city experienced significant growth starting in the 1970s with the development of the Denver Technological Center. Mayor Freda Poundstone played a crucial role during this period, staunchly opposing Denver's attempts to annex additional land for the Tech Center. Her efforts culminated in the 1974 Poundstone Amendment, which effectively set Denver's boundaries and allowed Greenwood Village to annex valuable properties along the I-25 corridor.
This expansion sparked controversy among residents of unincorporated Arapahoe County who faced a diminishing tax base, eventually leading to the incorporation of Centennial in 2001. Today, Greenwood Village finds itself bordered tightly by Centennial, and has undergone three instances of deannexation — in 1985, 2011, and most recently in 2024 — reflecting its complex and dynamic history.
